So, you probably want to know a bit about the woman behind the opinions. Well, Wednesday is a 24-year-old communications assistant at a law firm. She prefers thriller and mystery novels, but is a sucker for a good vampire or Regency romance. In addition to reading, she enjoys escaping reality via video games of the simulation variety, binging reality competition shows, and figuring out every route of escape in every room she's ever been in.

THE FAVORITE OF THE MONTH

Throughout 2025, I saved all my Christmas and winter reads for December. By far, my favorite read from that bunch was For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten. The woodsy, folky dark fantasy full of cursed forests and self-suffering wolves fit everything I was looking for in a new fantasy duology. It perfectly filled the hole I had after finishing The Shepherd King duology earlier in the year, while bringing me to a fresh world with different stakes. Plus, I love that the biggest driving force for our main characters is their sisterly bond. It's refreshing to see that type of relationship at the forefront of a fantasy series.
